Solimar Will Participate in Travel Think Tank

Solimar Marketing will have the opportunity to participate in BEST's (Business Enterprises for Sustainable Travel) third annual Think Tank, held in Costa Rica this July. The purpose of the Think Tank is to develop education modules that incorporate principles of sustainable tourism into the curriculum of universities and technical training institutions with hospitality and tourism degree programs. This year's Think Tank will address the subjects of Strategic Management and Events and Meeting Management, within the context of sustainable tourism education. Our participants will be able to share practices of sustainable tourism and travel with other tourism professionals and educators, as well as learn about new sustainable tourism practices in Costa Rica and Central America . They will also learn about different approaches to sustainable tourism education and training, and will develop teaching modules on sustainable tourism that will utilize some of these approaches. By participating in the Think Tank, we will become more adept at applying the principles of sustainability to our business.

 

Solimar Participates in Online Ecotourism Conference

Solimar Marketing is participating in the Ethical Marketing of Ecotourism Conference, an online conference hosted by Planeta.com from June 17 to July 11. The conference will review practical marketing strategies for businesses dedicated to ecotourism, as well as review effective and ethical marketing strategies to promote sustainable tourism. Participants are asked to reflect upon a series of questions and are encouraged to submit papers on the topics that most interest them. The papers are immediately documented and archived for public access. This style of conference allows for a dialogue-style discussion about the subject. This provides an excellent opportunity for networking with other tourism professionals and presents Solimar with the chance to become more educated about the strategies and principles of ethically marketing sustainable tourism.
